THE ‘OLD BOOKS, NEW FRIENDS’ FESTIVAL

128

The “Old Books, New Friends” festival is a fantastic event aimed at highlighting the importance of sharing books and educational materials, promoting the value of reuse and knowledge sharing. This activity primarily targets the incoming freshmen of the K62 generation, providing them with easy access to and free acquisition of essential learning resources for their respective majors from senior students. The “Old Books, New Friends” event not only offers opportunities for K62 students to access learning resources but also fosters a sense of community by nurturing a culture of sharing and learning.

Old learning materials hold significant value, not just in terms of knowledge but also in their meaning. By contributing, you have helped create opportunities for the next generation to access knowledge, develop their skills, and expand their horizons. Textbooks, for instance, can bring joy, excitement, and inspiration. They can transform someone’s life and give rise to new dreams. We are confident that when K62 students open any of these textbooks, they will see the past, the present, and even the future. These donated books are a part of the past, and by contributing them, you are preserving your memories and dedication to sharing knowledge, which will ultimately shape a brighter future for future generations.

The contribution guidelines are as follows:

  • Book collection period: During office hours from September 19, 2023, to September 26, 2023.
  • Collection location: University Library of Foreign Trade.

Each administrative class will collect from 10 to 20 books.

Types of contributed books include textbooks and reference materials for subjects in the university’s curriculum. (For Vietnamese publications, only original copies will be accepted.)

After receiving the contributed learning materials from the students, the departments and faculties will collaborate to classify and prepare the books for distribution to K62 students.

When contributing books, students can also include a small message or wish for the younger generation through a bookmark! Additionally, all book contributors will receive a beautiful bookmark prepared by the organizing committee!

Through this act of giving, we are not only tidying up our bookshelves but also creating space for new stories and ideas, equipping the incoming freshmen of the FTU with a solid foundation for their studies. Therefore, be proud of what you have done, and remember that every small contribution can make a big difference.

Let’s come together on this special occasion to give the K62 freshmen priceless educational gifts and create a brighter future for everyone!
