From June 21st to June 23rd, 2024, Actnovation Camp Group 3 (AC 3), part of the Capacity Building Program for Innovation for Units at Foreign Trade University – “FTU Actnovation Camp” with the support of the Human Resources Department, FTU Innovation and Incubation Center (FIIS), successfully organized a training program in Quang Ninh province.
The Actnovation Camp 3 program was implemented by Foreign Trade University for four units: Faculty of Law, Faculty of Finance – Banking, Faculty of Accounting – Auditing, and Faculty of Political Science and Humanities, with the participation of 54 members including faculty leaders, department heads, lecturers, teaching assistants, and administrative staff from the four units.
During the three-day training, many diverse and engaging activities were organized and received positive responses from all participants. The faculty members were introduced to various models and methods to unleash creative thinking abilities such as: Dragon Dreaming Model, Impact Gaps Model, Design Thinking Model, Empathetic Listening Practice, Powerful Question Skills, Breath Model (Brainstorming Ideas), etc.
Under the skillful and delicate guidance of the facilitators, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Tran Thi Kim Anh – Dean of the Faculty of Accounting – Auditing; Assoc. Prof., Dr. Tran Viet Dung – Dean of the Faculty of Finance – Banking; Assoc. Prof., Dr. Le Thi Thu Ha – Director of FIIS; Dr. Than Thi Hanh – Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Humanities; Dr. Ha Cong Anh Bao – Dean of the Faculty of Law; and Dr. Nguyen Thu Hang – Deputy Director of FIIS, members of FTU AC3 applied the “Impact Gaps” and “Design Thinking” models to identify and address many unresolved issues that require innovative solutions in teaching, scientific research, and community service.
At the end of the program, the groups proposed four passionate and feasible ideas to solve the core issues of their units. Five awards, including four corresponding to the core values of Foreign Trade University (Creativity – Excellence – Responsibility – Courage) and the “First Taken Action” Award, were presented to the groups. Specifically:
📌The Faculty of Law with a project on Branding specialized law courses for economics students at Foreign Trade University won the “Responsibility” and “First Taken Action” awards;
📌The Faculty of Political Science and Humanities with a project on enhancing foreign language skills for the faculty’s staff and lecturers was awarded the “Courage” prize;
📌The Faculty of Accounting – Auditing with a project on applying the “Gamification” model in teaching for the Faculty’s lecturers to motivate students, named “Engaging Teaching – Joyful Learning,” won the “Creativity” prize;
📌The Faculty of Finance – Banking with a project on accessing big data through international partner connections for scientific research and teaching was awarded the “Excellence” prize.
At the conclusion of FTU AC3, all members felt energized and determined to implement innovative projects as soon as possible. When sharing their experiences, many AC 3 members expressed sincere gratitude to the University’s Board of Management, the Human Resources Department, and the FIIS Center for providing the best conditions for the university’s staff and lecturers to be trained in such a meaningful program and hoped to continue participating in future innovation and connection programs.
