2. Assessment method

Assessing student learning outcomes is the process of recording, storing and providing information about learners’ progress throughout the teaching process. The assessment ensures clear, accurate, objective and differentiated principles, regularly and periodically. Specific requirements and assessment criteria are designed and announced to learners before studying. Assessment information is provided and shared promptly with relevant parties, from which timely adjustments are made to teaching activities, ensuring orientation and achieving teaching goals.

The Accounting – Auditing program applies a variety of assessment methods. Depending on the output standards and teaching-learning methods of each course, appropriate assessment methods are selected to ensure adequate information is provided to evaluate students’ progress as well as the effectiveness achievement of the teaching and learning process.

The main assessment methods for formative assessment include class discussion; homework; present; fast test; classroom feedback; essay/summary…

Summative assessment methods (midterm, final) include short answer; Multiple-choice; Essay; Report; Field/practice; Project; Presentation; Case studies; Questions and Answers…

In the program, rubrics are used for some subjects, exercises, presentations, written tests, reports… to help students know what expectations in each assessment criterion are.

3. Method of calculating points

Students are evaluated on a 10-point scale, converted to A, B, C, D, F according to the training regulations developed by the university, based on Regulation No. 08/2021/TT-BGDDT dated March 18, 2021 of the Ministry of Education and Training and Decision No. 409/QD-DHNT-QLDT dated May 8, 2009 of Foreign Trade University. Specifically:

– A 10-point scale is used to evaluate the course including component scores, final exam scores and course scores. The course score is equal to the sum of the component scores multiplied by the corresponding weights.

– The letter grade scale is used to classify learning results based on course scores.

– A 4-point scale is used when calculating the semester GPA and cumulative GPA to evaluate student learning outcomes.

Classify 10 score scale Letter scale Scale 4
Obtain Excellent From 8.5 to 10 A 4
